Story
I used to play every single Call of Duty video game that came out (for the single player campaigns). I stopped many years ago because I either grew out of it or the mechanics were more of the same. That is of course until I found out that Bear McCreary scored Call of Duty: Vanguard. Then I instantly bought it.
I think I may have mentioned way too many times to anyone around me who would listen that Bear McCreary is my favorite composer. I listen to everything he writes. And now, I was going to be hearing his music in an interactive manner with Call of Duty: Vanguard? omg omg omg! :)
His soundtrack was amazing. It was heart pumping and exhilarating. After finishing the game and listening to the soundtrack a bunch of times, I took a lot of inspiration from it and started putting this track together. I may have borrowed a thing or two from him :)
Fast forward to a few weeks after I finished this track - I was playing it in my car and my son asked me who the composer was. I told him it was me and what he said after that will stick with me for the rest of my life: “WTF? This is you? This is amazing!”. Thanks Bear. I wouldn’t have had this moment with my son without you :)
